Ooh la la! Last week, Parisians got a surprise when RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 inspired street art began popping up around the City of Love. It started off slowly with just Langanja Estranja, Adore Delano, and BenDeLaCreme but has expanded to include Courtney Act and Bianca Del Rio throughout the streets this week.
Many have been asking: who is the genius behind this explosion of creative and expressive drag queen street art? The artist is Surianii, who has been uploading the street art photos to their Flickr. On many of the pieces, you can see a small ‘Surianii’ signature along the queens’ dresses and bodies.
This street art is revolutionary for drag culture. Through this public art form, drag is being shared with every person passing by on the streets (even if they don't realize it!) We can’t wait to see which queens Surianii decides to let come to life on the Paris streets next!
