Get ready to put on those reading glasses! No, like actual reading glasses.  Everyone's favorite RuPaul's Drag Race guest judge is about to join the ranks of RuPaul as an officially published author. Michelle announced the upcoming release of her first autobiographical advice book, Even Divas Need Day Jobs (set for publication in Fall 2015 through Chronicle Books).

Miss Visage doles out some of the most helpful, yet critical advice on the Drag Race runway so we expect her to keep it real in this upcoming new book as well. Prepare to go deep inside the fabulous herstory of this powerhouse of a woman.

Michelle had this to say about her book:

“This book is for all of the divas out there, male, female, or undecided, who have ever struggled and felt like they were all alone in the fight of being fabulously different. We all have inner divas that need to be released, and I will show you how to let that diva out of your personal closet and let her shine like the star that she is!”

Be on the look out for more updates on Michelle's memoir. And don't forget: reading is what? FUNDAMENTAL!

I'm looking forward to the book! Just have to say as far as her press quote that "male, female, or undecided" is not as inclusive a statement as she intends, though I appreciate that she intends to be inclusive. Some people do not identify as either male or female. They are not undecided. They are just themselves, neither male nor female. And for the majority of people, gender identity is not seen as a choice. as implied by the term "undecided" but rather an innate identity. I think for folks who've been around a long time, and have always been perceived by their gay fanbase as highly liberal, their can be a tendency to not see the need to educate oneself. Not speaking directly about Michelle. Just saying there is a lot of ignorance out there about trans issues and let's all get in that learning mentality, which includes me speaking up now and not limiting myself to diva worship mode without a critical eye.
