To preface this, we LIVE for all the RuPaul's Drag Race queens. At the same time, every queen cannot steal the runway every week. In fact, some do the exact opposite, and fall flat on their faces (literally, in Akashia's case). These looks do not represent the 'catch of the day' fishiness many queens strive for, but that drowning, flailing, flopping type of fish. Here are the looks we would like to forget:
#10 Monica Beverly Hillz
After an emotional coming out the previous week, we had high expectations for Monica Beverly Hillz to turn things around and work it out. What we got was a very underwhelming hawaiian airport lei greeter. The explosion of flowers worked out for Monica about as well as it did for Serena ChaCha (see #7).
#9 Detox
Detox makes the list, not because here dress is truly tragic (though it is definitely her worst), nor her stumbling and tripping over the bulky train on the runway, but because this week's flop costed her a spot in the final 3. She really needed to prove herself at the Sugar Ball, and this tacky couture made the final 3 decision easy. Santino went on to say the dress was so bad it made him question her taste level. We hate to put Detox on this list (especially after having stolen so many of the spots on our Top 25 Runway Looks of Season 5 list), but she really blew it this week.
#8 Honey Mahogany
Oh no honey here we go again! Yet another warm-colored caftan. That’s three runways, people. You just cannot win RuPaul's Drag Race without spicing things up and wowing the judges (and you definitely cannot win wearing afros like that).
#7 Serena ChaCha
We almost think this had potential to be a good luck. The pocket-sized Panama flag from the dollar store, though, does nothing but cheapen the look. With an outfit that big, the flag seems to get lost. To top it all off, the skirt being too short reveals her mortifying granny panties!!
#6 Penny Tration
The dress is as simple as the hair. Penny was so excited to be on the show, we were expecting big things. The waistline is not flattering, and the front slit is just terrible. As sad as we were to see her go, with a dress like that, she easily secured her spot as the 1st queen eliminated.
#5 penny Tration
As if the dress wasn't bad enough on the first episode, Penny tries to bring it back again for the finale. She does a complete turnaround from her dark-toned makeup on the first runway to a palate so white it borders on clown. And the fan?! We did love her read of Serena ChaCha during the finale interview though!
#4 Jade Jolie
The amount of hair on this outfit is just absurd. Hair on her knees, hair on her wrists, hair on her hips. Is that yellow hair on her armpit? We just cannot handle this. Only Yara Sofia can pull off that much hair.
#3 Alyssa Edwards
In arguably the harshest critique ever, Santino describes Alyssa's runway look as the worst he has seen in 5 seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. In the finale, he stands by his comment. It really is a mess, and we know Alyssa can do much better.
#2 Coco Montrese
This "Shirley Temple Black" runway look gives us nightmares. When you think about it, what you have is a 40 year old man dressed up like a 5-year old girl. Between Serena ChaCha's flag and this teddy bear, we almost want to advise against props altogether. Just way too creepy for us, Coco.
#1 Serena ChaCha
Serena ChaCha might go down in history for this tragic lederhosen look. Michelle crucifies her, saying the shape is so wrong that she gets lost in it, with what is left out just looking like boy. The makeup on her face is so different than her body that Santino compares it to a barbie whose head was taken off and placed on another body. Luckily, Serena, the youngest contestant, is only 21, and has a lot of time to improve.
