This past weekend was Gay Pride for many cities across the country- from Philadelphia and DC on the east coast to Los Angeles on the west. Two of our favorite RPDR queens, Mimi Imfurst and Manila Luzon, were in the 'city of brotherly love' for the festivities. Though the overwhelming majority of people attend Pride to support diversity and equality, a few still come to spit their messages of hate and bigotry. During the parade on Sunday, Mimi Imfurst took a stand against one of these homophobic protestors. Mimi stood in front of the protester with a rainbow flag, and then held a purse in front of him to block the sound.

Unfortunately, police harassed and threatened to arrest her. Even a pride official told Mimi to "behave" and to ignore the protestor. Mimi said "I don't believe that we must lay down and not fight for what we believe in. I am disgusted that a pride official tell me to not stand up for equality at GAY PRIDE".
You go Mimi! We are impressed with you more and more every day.
Do you have Mimi's back? Let her know.
