
It's no secret that removing "She-mail" from RuPaul's Drag Race has caused quite a controversy. Queens and fans alike have sounded off on the issue and sensitivity to language.
RuPaul's Drag Race season 6 competitor Courtney Act was so inspired by her victory in the Oprah talk show challenge that she has launched her own "iPhone Chat Show", where she will conduct interviews in her home and while out on the road. In the debut episode, Courtney sits down with trans icon and guest pianist for 'Shade: The Rusical', Our Lady J. Coincidentally, this was also the episode which contained the mini-challenge that sparked the controversy in the first place.
The two discuss language, trans issues, and modern sensitivities in regards to reclaiming language!

After reading lots of articles and comments about the words "tranny" and "shemale", Our Lady J and I sat down to discuss the topic. It is important to both of us, and our intent is to contribute to positive change for the trans community and community at large.
