Jinkx Monsoon & Mimi Imfurst To Appear on CBS' Hit Series 'Blue Bloods'

Television dramas, particularly crime dramas, are no stranger to using drag queens and transgendered women in their story lines or casts (just ask Willam Belli or Kelly Mantle!) It's no surprise, then, that CBS's hit crime drama series is tapping into the drag world to bring us an episode entitled 'Manhattan Queens' this Friday! The guest star of this episode will be none other than America's very own reigning Drag Superstar, Jinkx Monsoon! The episode's plot revolves around an ongoing investigation of the murder of a famous New York drag queen. Jinkx's character in the show is a sultry and sophisticated one, reminding us of the old-world Hollywood stars of yesteryear, such as Audrey Hepburn and Rita Hayworth.
The episode will feature a slew of other queens in addition to Jinkx, including RuPaul's Drag Race veteran Mimi Imfurst! With both of these queens coming from theater backgrounds, we are very excited to see what they bring to this drama!

Here is the trailer for Friday's episode:
Be sure to tune in to CBS at 10/9c on Friday to catch Jinkx, Mimi and a slew of other queens in what is sure to be an episode unlike any other!

The Jane/John Doe is NYC queen Dallas DuBois.

I don't have a TV but looks like cbs.com and their app streams the show (maybe up in a few days after it airs I guess). Hoping the mic in the shot means Jinkx will get to sing! I have this sneaking suspicion that the murderer will be some jealous fellow queen which I'm hoping not as that's not realistic. This really is an achievement to get on the show at all. But the CBS show I really want to see Jinkx on is "Mom" because Alison Janey's character I think has a few things in common with the character of Jinkx.

It's streaming on cbs.com/bluebloods right now. Jinkx was really good. I won't give any spoilers, just that it was a good procedural and Jinkx had some solid scenes. Impressed.

What I appreciate the most is the rather drag-sympathic turn the show took. Usually transpeople and drag performers appear solely as corpses and even their empty shells are mocked all along. (Or their crazy psychos such as in Silence of the Lamb and whatnot.) A step in the right direction I would say.

I just watched this great episode of Blue Bloods and wondered who all the Drag Queens were. IMDB does not list one of them. That sucks.
