Manila Luzon's polished 'Bring It' music video does just that! With fierce looks, fun dance beats, sexy underware-clad men, and a guest appearance by Jinkx Monsoon, Manila brings it all! Manila and Jinkx serve as muses to drag queens and women who need a little boost of confidence and a few key styling tips to help them tap into their inner diva. No video of Manila's would be complete without themed couture, and she certainly met our expectations. The queens camp it up with their glitzy Spongebob Squarepants looks among other quirky characters in a shelarious manner that never fails to entertain!
While the video is fun, funky, and fierce, portions of it are also a beautiful tribute to some important parts of Manila's personal life. In a post on Facebook she mentioned that one of the story lines from the video, in which she is playing drag mother to a new queen taking the subway to work, was directly pulled from her own life. In reference to this portion of the video (which begins around 0:59) Manila wrote "I wanted to to evoke the memory of a young Sahara Davenport in this story line. When I first moved to New York City I I used to take the subway (the 6) in full drag from the Bronx all the way down to the Lower East Side. It wasn't til I started dating Sahara that I realized taking cabs was a lot safer way to travel to the party (hence my Taxi dress made by Ivy Winters)" It's this kind of personal touch and meaning that really makes Manila's performances shine. Her openness about her inspirations is certainly something we love to see!
