In 2013, there was a definite trend in featuring drag queens in pop music videos. From Lady Gaga to Cher and a number of music artists in between, these fierce and talented queens are making their way into the mainstream. Most recently it is the New Wave punk rock band, Berlin, that has also chosen to join in on the growing trend. The group chose Raven to star alongside them in their newly released 'Animal' music video. As always, Raven brings out that sexiness we've come to know and love as she performs alongside rocker chick Terri Nunn!
As many RuPaul's Drag Race fans may recall, however, this is not the first encounter that these two performers have had together. Terri Nunn and Raven first met during the punk rock challenge on season 2 of the show. Nunn appeared as a guest mentor and judge, and helped guide the girls in their challenge. She seemed to be instantly taken with Raven's style and edge (both in and out of drag), and the two seemed to form a friendship by the time Raven stepped out onto the mainstage in her Terri Nunn inspired rocker chick outfit. As she told Huffington Post, it was this exact moment that got Nunn first thinking about the concept for this video! It seems that her reverence for drag and Raven as a performer has only grown, as she now considers Raven her "favorite entertainer", according to the description of this video.
