After co-starring alongside Major Scales in their critically acclaimed show, “The Vaudevillians”, Jinkx Monsoon has been nominated for a prestigious Helpmann Award. A Helpmann Award is an accolade presented by Live Performance Australia (the trade name for the Australian Entertainment Industry Association), which serves as the peak body in the live entertainment and performing arts industries in Australia. Helpmann Awards are given for "distinguished artistic achievement and excellence in the many disciplines of Australia's vibrant live performance sectors".
The Vaudevillians toured in Australia this past February, and Jinkx Monsoon has been nominated for Best Cabaret Performer for her role in the show.
The nominations for these awards were announced via the Helpmann Awards Twitter on July 14, 2014. The winner of the Best Cabaret Performer title will be announced at the 14th Annual Helpmann Awards on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney, Australia.
