RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Production Is Under Way!

RuPaul's Drag Race season 7 is near! Earlier today, Jaime Loera of Hollenbeck Films posted photos on his Instagram of the upcoming season's set rigging in Los Angeles. According to Jaime, the show will be filmed in Hollywood Center Studios stage 5, and although the start date is still undetermined, based on the photos, it will most likely happen in the next couple weeks.

This time last year, season 6 was already under way. Rumors are flying that the late start date is an attempt to work around some A-list guest judge's schedules. As a result of the delayed filming, fans are even more anxiously awaiting the season 7 queens' departure, and cast speculation is in full force. Like last year, Drag Official will be posting the most highly rumored queens in the coming weeks so make sure to check back for updates!

I don't think these are from drag race. I looked at the Instagram photos myself, and all he says is "Rupaul show" that could mean a lot of things. Ru is on a new show called Skin Wars, or it could be a show she's featured in? He never said anything about "RuPaul's Drag Race" let's not get too excited...

Actually if you want to get technical Drag Official get's a lot of their information from Reddit Drag Race and sadly Drag official never quotes their source. Shame on you Drag Official.

Will it be a different set? I love the current one but it's been the same for 5 seasons. It's getting old. And IF it is a new one, is everything gonna be new (runway, workroom, backstage lounges) or are it just gonna be minor updates.

actually on the stage there have been changes for example if you look at the back drop between season 4 and season 5 and i don't know if you watch untucked you will notice the lounges change along with their name in every season basically except 5 and 6 are the same but the only on going theme is that one is always gold and one is silver even the names keep changing

True, but I was referring to a complete redesign rather than just some minor touch ups (mainly of the center stage and workroom, because you're right the lounges do change regularely).

They may be building a new set entirely or this may be for Skin Wars. The only thing I've heard about set changes is the runway. Season 7 may be getting a total makeover or just a few slim changes.

By far the best show on television. I can't wait for season seven. Just when it semed it had all been done to death, and over scripted and fake as hell.And thats the reality shows. So many shows on tv , and so few that are any good. Ru is a true genius, and all the contestants from season one to six, were radiant , delightful and a true pleasure to watch. Their willingness to be vulnerable as well as 'supermodel of the world glamorous' is truely inspirational. I know , it helped me overcome a state of depression so dark and so deep, i was without hope. At home in bed waiting to die. I started watching the show, and for an hour here and there , i stopped suffering. Then i laughted , i cryed, i crused , i hoped and i prayed. Then i began to feel better, i was on the road to healing. Thats the power of television, and entertainment. It did what doctors and drug s could not. And for that i thank you all, cast and crew . . . Keep up the good work, you never know who's watching.

I hope they end up redoing the main stage. Holy burnt-out eyeballs, that thing needs to be toned-down in a major way. It's hard to pay attention to the fashion and performances when there are millions of neon, fluorescent lights blinding you beforehand. Even real runways aren't that blinding because the focus should be on those on-stage, not the stage itself. Here's to hoping.

Lets be real. You are looking at a bare version of the ENTIRE SET. Lets consider this, There is a runway, a judges table, a large workroom, a production room where they film challenges, a silver room, a gold room, and Rupauls Operation Room where she observes the workroom. I actually dont think this is really new. I just think its BARE BONES and things always look bigger bare.. Its really not that big if you look at all those elements.
